About the role
Bus drivers are needed to transport children to and from YMCA programs during the summer. Positions start in early June and run from June 22 to August 31. Responsibilities include making daily safety inspections, overseeing children on the bus, and following YMCA policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Transports children to and from program activities and sites.
- Makes daily safety inspections of the vehicle.
- Reports to supervisor any conditions on the vehicle needing attention or correction.
- Oversees conduct of children on the vehicle.
- Follows all driver guidelines and standards.
- Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
- May supervise a group of program participants.
Qualifications
- 22 years of age or older.
- Current Washington State Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with class B Passenger endorsement and Air Brake Restrictions Removed for 66-passenger buses.
- Driving record which meets or exceeds YMCA standards.
- Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- TB Test may be required depending on camp type or location.
- Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT.
