Bus & Coach Technician Apprentice - Dartford
About the role
As an Apprentice Bus Technician, you will be trained to inspect, diagnose, repair and test equipment and systems on buses from different manufacturers. The work ranges from performing simple tasks, like replacing a part, to solving complex faults often using diagnostic equipment.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, diagnose and record defects to the applicable standard
- Diagnose principles based on logical, analytical interpretation leading to solving problems
- Develop skills and experience across a range of vehicles
- Carry out high quality road worthiness inspections specific to their trade
- Understand and adhere to current Health and Safety requirements and workshop practices
- Gain an understanding of the business from an operational perspective and how their role contributes to the success of the organization
- Deliver a safe, clean, reliable service to customers
- Attend and assess roadside incidents as required
Requirements

You will need to have GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at Grade C / Level 3 as a minimum.

Benefits
As an apprentice with Arriva, you will earn:
- Under 18s: £8 per hour
- 18 to 20: £10.85 per hour
- 21 and above: £12.71 per hour
Pay
In your first year, you will earn under 18s £8, 18 to 20 £10.85, and 21 and above £12.71. Your earnings will increase year-on-year in line with the National Minimum Wage and progress through your course.

Based at our Dartford depot, you will work alongside an experienced team who will support and mentor you along the way.
