Bus Attendant

Responsibilities

• Aid students in entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Serve students in their seats to ensure safety.
• Model positive behavior, moral character, and integrity for students.
• Maintain vigilance over passengers to enforce safety regulations and student conduct rules.
• Document and report any violations or concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• Assist the driver in evacuating students in case of an emergency.
• Ensure students take their belongings when leaving the bus.
• Keep the bus clean and presentable.
• Complete and submit required paperwork promptly.
• Present a neat and professional appearance.
• Attend all assigned training sessions.
• Act professionally, respectfully, and warmly towards others.
• Create a positive and welcoming atmosphere on the bus.
• Redirect inappropriate student behavior using positive strategies.
• Collaborate with administration, principals, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Absent from work only when necessary and arrive on time.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Comply with the Teacher Code of Ethics.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with school-age students is preferred.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Read and write effectively.
