Bus Assistant - Roselle, NJ
Responsibilities
- Aid students in entering or exiting the bus safely.
- Show highest ethical standards and personal integrity; report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor or manager.
- Secure students using seat belts, car seats, or wheelchair restraints as needed.
- Maintain safety and student conduct rules during transportation.
- Document and report any violations or concerns to appropriate authorities.
- Ensure students take their belongings when leaving the bus.
- Help the driver keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
- Complete required paperwork and submit on time.
- Behave professionally and promote company goodwill.
- Report to duty on time and perform tasks safely.
- Attend all assigned training, safety meetings, and in-service meetings.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old; 19 years old for New York School Bus Assistants.
- Meet physical and medical requirements.
- Pass all training and attend safety meetings and in-service meetings.
- Show attention to detail and dexterity to handle various restraints.
- Work well with children and maintain effective behavior management.
- Show professionalism and diplomacy when interacting with students, colleagues, parents, and school personnel.
- Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be able to lift and assist students as necessary.

Pay and Benefits
- Pay range for routed monitors is $14.13 - $15.00 per hour.
