Bus Assistant - Little Egg Harbor

Responsibilities

• Aid students in entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Show highest ethical standards and personal integrity; report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor or manager.
• Secure students using seat belts, car seats, or wheelchair restraints as needed.
• Maintain vigilance over passengers to ensure compliance with safety regulations and student conduct rules.
• Communicate and apply discipline according to company policy when necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old; 19 years old for New York School Bus Assistants.
• Meet physical and medical requirements.
• Pass all training and attend safety meetings and in-service meetings to remain qualified.
• Show attention to detail and possess considerable dexterity to handle various types of restraints and secure wheelchairs.
• Have a high degree of patience and ability to work well with children.
• Show professionalism and diplomacy when interacting with students, fellow employees, parents, and school district personnel.
• Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be capable of lifting and assisting students as necessary.
