Responsibilities
- Aid students in entering or exiting the bus safely.
- Show highest ethical standards and personal integrity; report any suspicious or inappropriate behavior to supervisor or manager.
- Secure students using seat belts, car seats, or wheelchair restraints as needed.
- Maintain safety and follow student conduct rules during transportation.
- Document and report any violations or concerns to appropriate authorities.
- Ensure students take their belongings when leaving the bus.
- Help keep the bus clean and presentable.
- Complete required paperwork and submit on time.
- Display professional behavior and promote company goodwill.
- Report to duty on time and perform tasks safely.
- Attend all assigned training, safety meetings, and in-service meetings.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old; 19 years old for New York School Bus Assistants.
- Meet physical and medical requirements.
- Pass all training and attend safety meetings and in-service meetings.
- Have a high attention to detail and dexterity.
- Be able to relate to and work well with children.
- Have strong professionalism and diplomatic skills.
- Communicate effectively and interact with students, colleagues, parents, and school personnel.
- Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
Qualifications
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Must have a valid Social Security number.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
Pay, Benefits & Schedule
Pay Range: $18.35 per hour
Training: $18.35 per hour
Bonuses: $625/quarter (after 1 year of employment)
