Responsibilities
- Monitor and control students' behavior.
- Report discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
- Aid with the loading and unloading of students.
- Operate the wheelchair lift, when applicable.
- Ensure wheelchairs are properly positioned, locked and secured.
- Perform daily inspections of safety harnesses, restraints, and other special equipment.
- Follow approved procedures for housekeeping and student care.
- Serve as a role model for students.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with special needs students is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift, carry / move equipment or supplies weighing up to fifty pounds.
- Ability to transport students using a wheelchair or other mobility device.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and training programs when requested.
