Bus Aide (26-27 school year)

About the role

The Bus Aide assists the bus driver in providing safe, orderly, and supportive transportation for students to and from school and school-related activities. This role focuses on student supervision, safety, and behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during the bus ride to ensure their safety and well-being
• Monitor and manage student behavior to maintain a positive and safe environment
• Ensure all students are seated properly and safely before departure
• Communicate with the bus driver about any issues or concerns regarding students or the bus operation
• Assist with loading and unloading students at designated stops
• Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and best practices

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of child development and behavior management

Qualifications

• Experience working with children is preferred but not required
• Pass a background check
