Burner Operator - 2nd Shift

About the Role

The Burner Operator ensures quality products are produced safely and efficiently by setting up, operating, and performing basic programming tasks related to burner systems.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret work order documents to plan order placements on the table, grouping orders by thickness and prioritizing based on supervisor instructions, customer requests, or other requirements.
• Locate materials on the floor or in staging areas, using appropriate material handling equipment such as chains, plate hooks, magnets, or spreader bars, and place dunnage on the table as required.
• Select the correct torch tips based on material type and desired cutting edges.
• Program the CNC computer according to work order instructions, clean slag from finished parts, and stack parts on skids or place them in hoppers for transportation to the slag cleaning machine.
• After cleaning, place parts on skids for packaging, noting customer unloading requirements, shrink-wrapping, banding materials with steel, and labeling skids with order numbers, customer names, and PO numbers.
• Remove scrap from the table and place it in the dumpster; move finished orders to the staging area as needed.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support production efficiency and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work assigned overtime, sometimes with short notice.
• Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility.
• Demonstrated reliable work history.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks.
