About the Role

Serves as a clinical and operational liaison across the continuum of burn care and performance improvement support. Coordinates patient-centered care from initial injury through inpatient treatment, outpatient follow-up, rehabilitation, and community reintegration. Ensures timely access to care, facilitates multidisciplinary communication, supports patients and families, and contributes to quality, regulatory readiness, and program growth in alignment with the American Burn Association (ABA) standards. Plays a critical role in supporting Burn Program development, improving patient experience and outcomes, reducing fragmentation of care, and supporting the hospital’s mission as a regional referral center.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient-centered care across the continuum of burn care.
• Facilitate multidisciplinary communication and ensure timely access to care.
• Support patients and families throughout treatment and rehabilitation.
• Contribute to quality improvement, regulatory readiness, and program growth in alignment with ABA standards.
• Support Burn Program development and reduce fragmentation of care.
• Develop and implement prevention programs.
• Apply adult and child education theory in practice.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with community services.

Requirements

• Current and active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• Current BLS training.
• Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) required within one year of being in the position.
• Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) required within three years of being in the position.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required).
• Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred).
• Three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Burn Care, Trauma, or ICU.

• Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
