Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration - Install new intrusion alarm systems, wiring, sensors, keypads, and communication modules according to best practices and manufacturer guidelines.
- Program alarm panels (Bosch, Honeywell, DSC, etc.) based on customer-specific requirements.
- Testing & Maintenance - Perform routine inspections and tests to ensure all systems function properly.
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions or false alarms; escalate complex repairs to the Service Department if necessary.
- Compliance & Documentation - Maintain clear, accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs.
- Communication & Customer Service - Coordinate with local law enforcement or monitoring centers to prevent false dispatches during system testing.
- Provide timely, professional updates to customers regarding system status, necessary repairs, and service recommendations.
- Collaborate with Area Coordinators and office staff to schedule or reschedule inspections, installations, and service calls.
- Travel & Scheduling - This position requires frequent travel within your designated territory.
- Aid in emergencies or priority service calls as they arise.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Education:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Technical training or 1-2 years of post-high school education in electronics/low-voltage systems is a plus.
- Certifications:
- Certifications or formal training in Bosch, Honeywell, DSC, or similar alarm systems is highly desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience:
- Previous hands-on experience with Bosch Intrusion Alarm Systems is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Honeywell, DSC PowerSeries Neo, and other alarm brands is also valuable.
- A construction, electrical, or low-voltage background is beneficial.
- Technical Skills:
- Able to use electronic devices (e.g., tablets, smartphones) for documentation.
- Comfortable referencing local codes and manufacturer guidelines.
- Communication:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients and team members.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable climbing ladders up to 8 ft.
- Capable of standing, kneeling, or crouching for extended periods.
- Schedule:
- Must be able to work Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for occasional overtime or emergencies.
- Driver’s License:
- A valid driver’s license is required to travel within your territory.
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, dependable Burglar/Intrusion Alarm Technician to install, service, and maintain commercial and residential intrusion alarm systems. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Bosch Intrusion Alarm Systems and familiarity with other major brands such as Honeywell and DSC PowerSeries Neo. While licensing is not required, any certifications or specialized training in these systems will be considered a strong plus. The ideal technician is a self-starter, capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service.
