About the role
Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods at Sprouts Farmers Market. Lead a team in a high-traffic department, ensuring exceptional customer service and a clean, organized shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure the team properly packages, scales, fills, prepares, wraps, and prices bulk items accurately and legibly.
- Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and adhere to the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
- Ensure department compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the area remains clean and orderly.
- Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions; complete bi-annual performance reviews and recommend merit increases.
- Attend and participate in in-store meetings regularly.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions, including collaboration with HR for performance management.
- Ensure maximum productivity and efficiency by creating and adjusting schedules and staffing levels.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of weekly ad items and ability to direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
- Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
- Ability to move product weighing up to 50 lbs. vertically/horizontally from 4” to 36” for distances up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, totaling 8 hours per shift.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $29.15 per hour, based on applicable experience and qualifications.
