Bulk Manager

Overview

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods featured at Sprouts. They also ensure proper packaging and scaling of bulk items, fill bulk bins, prepare, wrap, and price bulk packages accurately and legibly. They manage inventory, rotate products using code dates, and adhere to the company's cleaning and sanitation program. They oversee compliance with safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations. They communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members and provide high-level customer service.

Responsibilities

• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members are properly packaging and scaling bulk items.
• Fulfill order and maintain inventory, rotating products using code dates, and adhering to the company's cleaning and sanitation program.
• Oversee compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the Bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
• Evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns, take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance.
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules that change, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• The ability to know weekly ad items and direct customers to product locations throughout the store; perform general housekeeping in the department.
• A working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• An outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• The ability to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 36”, for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
• The ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
