Overview
The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods featured at Sprouts. They also ensure proper packaging and scaling of bulk items, fill bulk bins, prepare, wrap, and price bulk packages accurately and legibly. They order and maintain inventory, rotate products using code dates, and follow the company's cleaning and sanitation program.
Responsibilities
- Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members are properly packaging and scaling bulk items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and pricing bulk packages accurately and legibly.
- Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
- Oversee the department’s compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Ensure bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the Bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
- Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
- Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
- Regularly attend and participate at in-store meetings.
- Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
- Confidently exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns.
- Take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance to include coaching, counseling, progressive discipline, suspension, or termination when needed.
- Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
- Serve as a Key Carrier for the store or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age.
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
- Dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of weekly ads, product location within the store, and general housekeeping in the department.
- Able to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
- Show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
- Able to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 36”, for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
- Continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
- Able to perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $29.15 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
