Bulk Manager

Overview

The Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market oversees the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods featured at Sprouts. They ensure proper packaging and scaling of bulk items, fill bulk bins, prepare, wrap, and price bulk packages accurately and legibly. They also order and maintain inventory, rotate products using code dates, and comply with safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.

Responsibilities

• Follow the merchandising Bulk plan and ensure team members are properly packaging and scaling bulk items, filling bulk bins, and preparing, wrapping, and pricing bulk packages accurately and legibly.
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company's cleaning and sanitation program.
• Oversee the department's compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL compliance regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented, and the Bulk area is clean and orderly at all times.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
• Evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi-annual performance review process.
• Attend and participate at in-store meetings.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns and take and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with business and HR partners in managing performance.
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Lead a team that collaborates to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest experience your customers will receive.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1-2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work flexible schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of weekly ad items and ability to direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
• Ability to perform tasks involving vertical and horizontal movement, lifting up to 50 lbs., transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 36", for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers.
• Able to perform other related duties as assigned.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $17.90 - $26.70 / hour. Sprouts Farmers Market determines pay based on applicable experience and qualifications of the applicant.
