Bulk Manager

About the role

As a Bulk Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will oversee a prominent department visited by hundreds of customers each week. You’ll lead a team to deliver an extraordinary customer service experience in a friendly environment, helping customers make healthy choices in one of the fastest-growing retailers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods, ensuring adherence to the merchandising Bulk plan.
• Ensure your team properly packages, scales, fills, prepares, wraps, and prices bulk items accurately and legibly.
• Order and maintain inventory, rotate product using code dates, and follow the company’s cleaning and sanitation program.
• Oversee department compliance with all company and governmental safety, health, Weights & Measures, and COOL regulations.
• Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
• Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring bulk items are properly prepared, packaged, presented, and the area remains clean and orderly.
• Receive, unload, and stock merchandise as needed throughout the day.
• Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one-on-one development discussions.
• Make recommendations on merit increases via the bi-annual performance review process.
• Attend and participate in in-store meetings regularly.
• Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
• Exercise independent judgment to address team member concerns and document corrective actions when needed, including collaboration with HR partners.
• Create and adjust schedules and staffing levels to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
• Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• 1–2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment and 1 year of managerial leadership experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of weekly ad items and ability to direct customers to product locations throughout the store.
• Working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
• Ability to move product weighing up to 50 lbs. vertically/horizontally from 4” to 36” for distances up to 4 feet, for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance.
• Ability to stand continuously for up to 4 hours, totaling 8 hours per shift.
