Bulk Driver
About the role
We are hiring a Bulk Driver in Concord, NC for the Ammonia production & filling facility. The position involves delivering products to local customers on a scheduled route or intermittently. Key responsibilities include maintaining neat and clean vehicle appearance, performing pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and communicating with customers regarding safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products to local customers on a scheduled route or intermittently.
- Record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest and obtain customer signatures for receipt.
- Resolve service inquiries and complaints from customers.
- Engage in loading and unloading truck procedures.
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting deficiencies and ensuring all safety items are in good working order.
- Maintain neat, clean, and professional personal appearance and vehicle appearance.
- Safely handle Anhydrous Ammonia/Ammonium Hydroxide according to safety SOPs.
- Communicate in person with customers regarding safety protocols.
- Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are correctly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents.
- Maintain appropriate driver's license/endorsements.
- Able to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
- Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.
- Work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
- Work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
- Basic computer experience (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers.
- Able to work in a drug-free workplace.
- Able to work overtime if necessary.
- Some overnight stays may be required on a limited basis.
Requirements
- At least 25 years old
- Class A CDL with at least 2 years' CMV experience, tanker/hazmat endorsements required before hire date
- Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with a diploma will count as 1 year of the required experience
- No preventable accidents of any kind in the last 3 years
- No more than 2 minor tickets in the previous 3 years
- No serious violation ticket (speeding 15+, reckless driving, etc.) in the previous 3 years
- No suspensions of CDL in the previous 3 years except for "Failure to pay child support."
- No DUI in the last 7 years
- Ability to lift 60 lbs. or more
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Tanker experience preferred
Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Physical fitness to meet all physical qualification standards imposed by regulation for drivers
- Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
- Knowledge of safety protocols for handling hazardous materials

$31.00/hr
Schedule
Sun-Thursday 2nd shift (possibility of working a 6th day or 7th Day)
