Essential Position Responsibilities
- Verify all ingredients for the formula are correct on the first batch of every formula.
- Ensure operators are batching the correct ingredients in the right quantities.
- Verify that the batching books are being properly documented and that documentation is done by the operators in a timely manner, including using the correct lot numbers.
- Visually audit the operators when they weigh the product to verify weights.
- Audit operators once per shift, with increased frequencies for new trainees.
- Complete scale verification at the start of each shift, especially if a scale is moved.
- Complete the Scale Verification Form once scales are verified.
- Check the cut batch rack to ensure items are properly identified at the end of the shift.
- Turn in all paperwork to the Can Production Supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Print pallet tags as needed.
- Auditors must ensure ingredients are not expired by checking the QA tags of incoming ingredients.
- Verify that the QA tag on ingredients matches the pallet of product.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment by monitoring GMPs such as no bags or totes on the floor, ensuring hair nets/beard nets are used, cleaning up spills promptly, checking totes for missing pieces and cracks, cleaning totes before putting them back in racks, emptying trash before the end of the shift, and ensuring micro ingredients are properly weighed and labeled.
- Ensure all partial bags are correctly taped, dated, initialed, and labeled with a QA tag before transporting them back to the racks.
- If a foreign material is found, ensure the product is not used and inform the supervisor of the item found.
- Ensure grey totes containing product contain a green identification tag to maintain traceability.
- Participate as a member of the Team and assist in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
- Attend appropriate team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness regarding major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness and work with the team leader to resolve issues and achieve synergy within the larger organization.
- Familiarize oneself with Simmons' established operating systems and responsibilities within the position.
- Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.
