Essential Position Responsibilities
- Verify all ingredients for the formula are correct on the first batch of every formula.
- Ensure operators are batching the correct ingredients in the right quantities.
- Verify that the batching books are being properly documented and that documentation is done by the operators in a timely manner.
- Check that the correct lot numbers are used and documented.
- Visually audit weights for all ingredients used in a formula.
- Audit operators once per shift, with increased frequencies for new trainees.
- Complete scale verification at the start of each shift and at any time a scale is moved.
- Complete the Scale Verification Form after scales are verified.
- Check the cut batch rack at the end of the shift to ensure items are properly identified.
- Turn in all paperwork to the Can Production Supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Print pallet tags as needed.
- Auditors ensure ingredients are not expired by checking the QA tags of incoming ingredients.
- Verify ingredients to ensure the QA tag matches the pallet of product.
- Ensure all partial bags are correctly taped, dated, initialed, and labeled with a QA tag before transporting them back to the racks.
- If a foreign material is found, ensure the product is not used and inform the supervisor of the item found.
- Ensure all micro ingredients are properly weighed and labeled before being used.
- Ensure all grey totes containing product contain a green identification tag for traceability.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
- Monitor GMPs such as no bags or totes on the floor, hair nets/beard nets used, spills cleaned up in a timely manner, check totes for missing pieces and cracks, totes are cleaned before being put back in racks, trash emptied in a timely manner, and before the end of shift.
- Participate as a member of the Team.
- Participate in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinate work to ensure best practices with all team members.
- Attend appropriate team meetings.
- Foster strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
- Identify and address any areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
- Accept responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bring them to the attention of the team leader and work with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
Simmons Operating Systems Principles and Objectives
- Familiarity with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
- Understand the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Minimum Education
