Building Technician Helper

- Move office furniture, desks, chairs, cubicles, and other workplace equipment as directed.
- Remove unwanted furniture, metal cabinets, and surplus materials for recycling or disposal.
- Transport scrap metal items to designated dumpsters or collection areas.
- Assist with the proper disposal and recycling of electronic equipment and other approved materials.
- Load, unload, and relocate materials between buildings, offices, and storage areas.
- Support office reconfigurations, departmental moves, and workspace setup projects.
- Maintain clean and organized storage rooms, work areas, and loading zones.
- Assist with basic facility maintenance tasks as needed.
- Safely use hand tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, and similar tools to assemble or disassemble furniture and equipment.
- Complete safety training, follow all company safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials safely.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, moving services, warehouse operations, or general labor.
- Basic handyman or maintenance skills.
- Familiarity with safe lifting and moving practices.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 to 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
Work Environment
- Work is performed in office buildings, storage areas, loading areas, and outdoor environments.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme summer heat.
- Occasional exposure to dust, dirt, and construction or moving-related materials.
- Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required for certain tasks.
Schedule
- Part-time position averaging 15 to 20 hours per week.
- Occasional Saturday work may be required based on business needs.
