Building Technician

Responsibilities

Assist the Facilities Engineer in operating and maintaining all First Hawaiian Center major building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, lighting and life safety systems.

Respond to tenant and employee facility maintenance requests, as directed by the Facilities Engineer.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an electrical, HVAC or plumbing trade/apprentice school or equivalent work experience in those fields, such as operations and maintenance experience in a large, commercial Class A building of similar size/type or equivalent facility required
• Minimum of two years’ experience relating to the concepts, principles, techniques involved in one or more of the following disciplines: electrical, plumbing or mechanical (e.g. HVAC, refrigeration or plumbing) required
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license required
• Clear driving abstract preferred
• Past supervisory experience, including military command experience is a plus

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have:
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing or HVAC systems
• Experience with Trane centrifugal chillers, Trane Tracer Summit BAS or equivalent, Caterpillar diesel engine/generators, ASCO transfer switches and switchgear
• Working knowledge and/or hands-on experience in Class A building infrastructure systems
• Able to handle confidential matters judiciously
• Able to associate and work with/around Executive and upper management personnel with tact and composure
• Possesses attention to detail with excellent follow-through
• Able to work under pressure with multiple deadlines
• Good time management skills

Skills

• Fluent English
• Ability to read and understand standard construction drawings and blueprints
• Basic hand and power tool proficiency (e.g. drills/drivers, saws, drain augers, pipe wrenches, etc.)
• Microsoft (MS) Windows based personal computer, email, spreadsheets (MS Excel preferred), and word processors (MS Word preferred)

First Hawaiian Bank offers a salary range of $22.50 - $30.00/hr, commensurate with experience.
