Building Superintendent

Responsibilities

• Follows the project construction process to ensure it is completed on time.
• Liaise with government inspectors on the standard requirements of the site in terms of licenses and safety.
• Supervises the general contractor and ensures they are punctual and deliver as scheduled.
• Weekly site meetings.
• Able to travel to site and oversee all the construction process, including flying, safely driving a minimum of 6 hours, etc.
• Cook with project manager and other R+L Carriers employees on a regular basis.
• Maintain, clean, and regularly schedule maintenance and repairs of assigned vehicles.
• Effectively and efficiently communicate with all stakeholders of the project.
• Recording the total costs for materials bought and payments for work done.
• Ensure that both the health and safety project plans are implemented.
• Writing daily project progress reports and saving site photos.
• Ensure that quality is preserved in the construction process and that the budget is maintained.
• Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, and other project specific issues.
• Coordinate with suppliers and request purchase orders.
• Ensure the general contractor maintains clean and safe standards.
• Schedule reviews and oversight.
• Manage General Contractor and our sub-contractors.
• Participate with the project team in pre-project planning sessions, estimating, sub-contractor selection, and scheduling.

Requirements

• Ability to schedule and multitask.
• Good with basic technology, emails, saving documents and photos to the server, Microsoft suite, applications, e.g. cell phone, tablet, etc.
• Reliable transportation.
• Knowledgeable in building and construction.
• Be a good problem solver.
• Ability to supervise.
• Construction Scheduling Software.
• Computer skills: complete daily time keeping in third party website, proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and project scheduling programs.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict.
• Delegate work appropriately.
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of Project Contracts, subcontracts and change orders, etc.
• Plan travel via third party website.
• Able to traverse rough terrain, in all weather conditions, and lift 50 lbs.

$70,000 yearly

Schedule

Travel is a must! Work schedule is 9 days on and 5 days off.
