Examination Schedule
Written exam: will be conducted on July 22, 2026
Written Exam (Weight 100%)
- Assessing knowledge of simple arithmetic, including ratios and proportions
- Knowledge of basic hand tools and electric floor equipment used in janitorial services
- Able to follow written and oral instructions
- Able to use good body mechanics and follow basic safety practices
- Able to read and understand labels on containers and supplies
- Other relevant subjects
Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards
- Valid Class C California Driver’s License required for some positions
- Knowledge of: simple arithmetic, including ratios and proportions; knowledge of basic hand tools and electric floor equipment used in janitorial services; ability to follow written and oral instructions; ability to use good body mechanics and follow basic safety practices in the performance of job duties; ability to read and understand labels on containers and supplies.
- Ability to: communicate effectively with staff, co-workers and supervisors about completed and pending tasks

This position works in various departments throughout Kern County.
Human Resources Division
The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a written examination. Should an appraisal be necessary, the appraisal will be weighted at 100%.
