Building Services Technician

About the role

Touchmark at Emerald Lake is seeking a Building Services Technician to ensure buildings and equipment are in good condition, grounds and common areas are maintained, and requests for installation and repairs are handled promptly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure buildings and equipment are in good condition and operating properly and efficiently
• Maintain grounds and common areas to be attractive, clean, and well-maintained
• Respond to requests for installation and repairs in a timely manner

Requirements

• On-call availability once per month, responding within one hour
• Organized, detail-conscious, and self-initiating
• Outgoing, warm, friendly personality
• Genuine interest in caring for elderly residents and working in a geriatric environment
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy

• Increasingly responsible experience in facilities maintenance and 3+ years’ experience preferred
• Strong understanding of building systems including HVAC, life safety, carpentry, painting, floor coverings, etc.
• Experience performing general maintenance in a community setting, especially in a health care environment
• Basic knowledge of appliance repair, motor maintenance, and basic plumbing and electrical repair
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Criminal background and MVR check clearance
• Ability to maintain patient and tactful composure when interacting with residents, family members, staff members, and visitors
