Building Sanitary Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Responsible for food safety, quality and plant appearance.
• Understands and follows standard procedures.
• Supports Environmental Cleaning Program with both routine cleaning tasks & targeted areas.
• Executes Master Sanitation tasks as assigned.
• Supports cleaning needs in areas identified by internal & external auditors.
• Holds or can qualify for a current forklift; manlift; floor scrubber license; other appropriate powered tools.
• Instructs/train new employees in the responsibilities of building sanitary maintenance.
• Operates equipment (current and new) related to cleaning floors, walls, overhead areas (ceilings, vents, pipes) and other areas in the plant.
• Clean/foams the needed floors/walls/overhead areas where directed.
• Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA, plant defined GMP's, or when directed by a supervisor.
• Mixes chemical solutions to proper concentrations following the sanitation procedures.
• Operates and maintains a variety of floor scrubbing machines to keep plant floor, isle ways and high traffic areas clean at all times.
• Performs general house cleaning in targeted areas as warranted.
• Knows how to set up and remove the metal totes for CIP process.
• Acknowledges responsibilities on the MSS sheets with proper documentation & initialing their work.
• Knows seasonal jobs such as snow removal, and policing the parking lots & lawns as needed.
• Carries out special projects as directed by plant management.
• Analyzes facility deficiencies and enters work orders accordingly for sanitation department.
• Performs minor painting (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes).
• Maintains sanitary conditions of the facility to ensure Good Manufacturing Practices by performing prescribed sanitation duties.
• Affixes minor building maintenance repairs as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or equivalent.
• Sanitation Operator Skills:
• Equipment/Training Knowledge:
• Driving forklift holds license.
• Driving floor scrubber holds / can obtain license.
• Operating manlift holds / can obtain license.
• Walk behind floor scrubber.
• Foamer operation previously demonstrated.
• Hand held floor scrubber - previously demonstrated.
• Dry ice cleaning machine.
• Snow blower.
• Annual in-house skills and knowledge improvement programs.
• Ability to Paint and Trim small areas.
• All Minor Building Maintenance repairs.

Schedule

Monday through Sunday as needed on any shift
