Building Products Estimator

About the role

COR Building Products is seeking an onsite Estimator to join their growing company. The position is based in Hanceville, AL, serving North Alabama and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple estimating projects and building take-offs
• Prepare quality construction take-offs, general cost estimates, and deep reviews of job specifications
• Understand construction schedules and design projects
• Meet bid date requirements
• Participate in project evaluations and offer insights
• Assist in other areas to deliver a quality product on schedule and on budget
• Manage documentation and cost/profit analysis
• Manage jobs according to schedule, on budget, and at or above target gross profit margin
• Scope of work completed to COR standards of quality and professionalism

Qualifications

• Relevant training and/or certification with a project cost estimating department or organization
• At least 1 year of experience working in a similar capacity
• Experience with preparing construction cost estimates
• Experience with wood truss design and estimating (a plus)
• Certified competence with analysis, numeration, research, the use of spreadsheet and scheduling software (proficiency in Excel, experience with database cost estimating software like Smart Build, Eagle, etc.)
• Proven experience with organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving in time-sensitive situations
• Leadership abilities demonstrated through experience
• Above-average written and oral communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Strong mathematical skills grounded in algebra, geometry, and simple math
• Computer literacy, complete competency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and estimating software

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
