Building Manager - Middle School

About the role

The successful candidate will ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the facility by supervising, training, and evaluating personnel, submitting accurate and necessary work orders, and monitoring contracted services if required. The primary responsibilities include performing maintenance, cleaning, and set-up requests generated by staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, cleaning, and set-up requests
• Ensure facilities are safe and operational for students, staff, and the community
• Maintain an inventory and recommend purchase of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment
• Manage the district chemical product management plan and update SDS manual
• Attend training and in-service meetings
• Perform duties as assigned
• Assist with safety drills, scenarios, and real-life situations
• Assist with the management of the district chemical product management plan and updates SDS manual
• Perform any duties as assigned associated with building upkeep including painting, and other non-routine maintenance tasks
• Perform crossing guard duties as directed
• Plan and oversee, set up, arrange, and break down equipment used for various functions at the location
• Plan and perform minor maintenance repairs to the facilities and systems and report major discrepancies
• Process internal work requests submitted by the teaching and administrative staff
• Support the implementation of sustainability management strategies
• Prepare work orders and reports and solve maintenance problems before they become emergencies
• Set up for regular and special events as directed
• Shovel, plow, and/or sand walks and steps as appropriate
• Vacuum, shampoo, sweep, strip, buff, mop, etc. floors and stairs as needed
• Work with outside vendors and local code agencies performing building maintenance functions
• Remove and dispose of trash in facilities and on grounds
• Report minor and major building and facility-related discrepancies or areas of need
• Review and develop cleaning standards and methods
• Sanitize rooms and facilities where applicable, including but not limited to restrooms, water fountains, gymnasiums, pools and locker rooms, etc.
