Building Management Systems Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Utilize Autodesk Revit to produce detailed design documents.
• Aid in the design of systems network topology.
• Create an understanding and ability to develop one-line detail diagrams.
• Learn how to select and specify BMS equipment.
• Achieve project deadlines, including working necessary hours to complete major deliverables.
• Review and gain an understanding of local and national construction codes and project specifications.
• Be proficient in Microsoft tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
• Travel to project sites when required (less than 10% travel).
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and clients, both verbally and in writing.
• Execute specific design elements under the guidance of senior and mid-level engineers and designers.
• Participate in training and mentoring opportunities to grow knowledge and capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2 or 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred, with HVAC construction experience and a drafting certification considered.
• Past internship, co-op, or work experience in a consulting engineering role is a plus.
• Experience working in the construction industry is a plus.
• Experience using Revit in either an educational or professional context is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
