Building Maintenance Worker

About the role

This position works eight-hour shifts daily from Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. This position performs semi-skilled building maintenance tasks as assigned in areas such as boiler operation and maintenance, rough carpentry, painting, cleaning, and general maintenance to assist in the maintenance, repair, and operating needs of the facility. Occasional transports of residents to and from medical appointments.

Responsibilities

• Operate boilers and perform boiler maintenance
• Perform rough carpentry tasks
• Paint and clean facilities
• Assist with general maintenance
• Occasionally transport residents to/from medical appointments

Requirements

• Valid South Dakota driver's license required
• Experience in operating boilers, boiler maintenance, building/property maintenance, and general maintenance knowledge and skills preferred
• Communication skills
• Honesty

• Willingness to serve others

Qualifications

• Knowledge of methods and practices of general building and facility maintenance
• Knowledge of building construction
• Knowledge of tools and equipment associated with the tasks of the position
• Knowledge of specific trade area associated with the position
• Ability to communicate information clearly and concisely
• Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools
• Ability to follow instructions
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, or in confined areas

Pay

The salary range for this position is $17.78 to $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

The position is full-time, working 40 hours per week, with shifts from Sunday through Thursday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
