Overview
Under general supervision, this lead-level position is responsible for semi-skilled and skilled building maintenance work of considerable difficulty, including leading others in tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and general mechanical repair.
Responsibilities
- Identify maintenance issues and resolve or report them to a supervisor; perform repair work using drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or diagrams.
- Complete work order request forms to log repair work, time expended, and materials used.
- Provide information and direction to subordinates.
- Operate and utilize a variety of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, plungers, sewer rodders, drills, skill saws, and grinders.
- Dismantle devices such as electrical fixtures, basic plumbing fixtures, and outlets to access, remove, and replace defective parts.
- Inspect structures for general condition and report issues to appropriate personnel.
- Perform HVAC repair, routine plumbing tasks, and lead restorative maintenance projects.
- Repair windows, doors, floors, woodwork, drywall, or other parts of building structures.
- Perform routine electrical tasks, basic carpentry tasks, and lead grounds maintenance projects.
- Review preventative maintenance plans to perform routine preventive maintenance, ensuring equipment runs smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
- Communicate with the general public to provide basic customer service and direct individuals to appropriate solutions.
- May operate state-issued vehicles, including pickup trucks, golf carts, watercraft, or tow motors.
Requirements
- Experience equivalent to four years of full-time increasingly responsible and skilled labor and trades work, including at least three years in building maintenance.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- For the past five years, the candidate’s driver record must not include: DUI, reckless driving, license suspension for moving violations, or more than four moving violations.

Pay
Monthly: $3,631.00 – $5,434.00
Annual: $43,572.00 – $65,208.00
