Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of preventative maintenance of key facility infrastructure including, buildings, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire systems, elevators, drain lines, and appliances.
- Ensures facilities are available for use and consistently maintained in a safe, and clean condition.
- Maintains the integrity of building systems and equipment by performing general mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs, clearing of drain line blockages, and conducting general building repairs to doors, hardware, painting, furniture; oversees work performed by 3rd party vendors when repairs must be outsourced.
- Maintains organization of all maintenance-related areas of the facility including tools, equipment, storage areas; mechanical rooms; and rooftops.
- Prioritizes and responds to all campus-related service requests submitted through a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Performs and documents regular inspections of facility function and systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Engineering Technology, Mechanical, Industrial, or Structural
- Construction or Facilities Management Mechanically inclined such as metalworking, creative solutions, etc.
- General experience repairing and maintaining electrical, plumbing, and HVAC fixtures
- Basic carpentry, painting, and custodial skills
- Good communicator
- Skilled at troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Task-oriented and disciplined with using computerized maintenance management systems to drive prioritization and completion of assigned tasks
- Customer service driven
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge acquired through 3 - 5 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of education beyond high school in college or technical school
