A Position Overview

The Building Maintenance Technician role is responsible for keeping the facility safe, functional, and in good condition by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections across multiple sites, as well as conference rooms set up throughout our Corporate sites. A Day In The Life

A Day In The Life

  • Perform repairs and preventive maintenance to commercial facility equipment, mechanical systems, and structures.
  • Cookinate and execute all conference/event set-ups at Kingsbury, Burlington and Edgewater Park locations and assure all event furniture is in good repair and ready for use.
  • Some travel to Burlington, NJ may be required.
  • Perform exterior maintenance tasks as needed; painting, lot signage installation, storm inlet maintenance, concrete and asphalt repairs, exterior lighting maintenance, roof systems maintenance, fence repairs, associate moves, policing of grounds, etc.
  • Snow/ice management and lawn irrigation system repairs performed as needed.
  • Respond to, and assist as needed, in building emergency matters such as plumbing leaks, power failure, fire, etc.
  • In coordination with the Merchandise Sample Supervisor, complete tasks as assigned related to the merchandise donation & surplus process.

Requirements

  • To sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Communicate via telephone and text messaging systems.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Must be capable of sending/receiving/reading/responding to emails.
  • Travel requirements: Minimal – Local, between area sites.
  • Ability to safely climb a ladder up to 30' and willing and able to work from high equipment such as scaffolding, mechanical lifts, ladders and roofs at a height of up to 5 stories.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting 50 lbs repeatedly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and text messaging systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of commercial facility equipment, mechanical systems, and structures.
  • Experience with conference/event set-up and maintenance.
  • Ability to perform snow/ice management and lawn irrigation system repairs.
  • Basic understanding of safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations.

Pay

Individual pay decisions will be based on a variety of factors, such as but not limited to, qualifications, education, job-related skills, relevant experience, and geographic location. Min-Mid $20.50 - $27.00
