About the role
Assist with the preventative maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment (i.e. air, plumbing, electrical). Assist in building new projects and replacing existing structures. Assist with troubleshooting all equipment operations (i.e. electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration). Paint, clean, move material, and assist or complete assigned projects that cover all aspects of the Facilities department. Inform supervisor of any trends or recurring problems with equipment or construction.
- Assist with laminate (carpentry), electrical, plumbing, painting, HVAC, flooring, and all other projects associated with the maintenance and construction performed by the Facilities department.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and a clean driving record; license must be carried at all times.
- Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with customers and fellow team members.
- Perform any and all duties as assigned by your Supervisor or a member of management.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED; two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five years experience in general building trades.
- Proficient in the use of all power and hand tools, welding, brazing, and soldering.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in situations with limited standardization; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications (a plus).
Physical demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, high/precarious places, and outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
