Building Maintenance Supervisor

Duties

• Provide cost estimates of the proposed projects.
• Inspect and identify maintenance projects that need to be completed.
• Assign and direct the tasks of and train other maintenance workers, students, inmates, or temporary and seasonal employees for the duration of a project.
• Perform skilled building maintenance tasks in the areas of electrical, plumbing, finish carpentry, refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, painting, locksmith, and preventive maintenance to provide for the continued, safe, and efficient operation of the facility and associated areas.
• Maintain air conditioning equipment by adding coolant, cleaning coils, replacing filters, and adjusting as required.
• Inventories and accounting of equipment, supplies, and distribution of supplies.

Requirements

• Must have some experience with areas of construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, snow removal, exterior yard work, and/or preventative maintenance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge Of the principles and practices of the trades supervised; (construction, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, snow removal/yard work), best safety practices);safety measures and occupation hazards of the trades;effective methods of supervision.
• Skill To keep records and inventory reports for accounting;communicate information clearly;use a computer.
• Ability To establish and maintain effective supervisory relationships;plan and schedule work assignments; to keep records;read, interpret, and work from sketches, blueprints, and specifications;keep thorough and accurate records;deal tactfully with others;communicate information clearly and concisely;perform tasks in the trade areas supervised.

Pay

• $21.00 - $27.00 depending on experience.
