Building Maintenance Engineer (Swing-shift)- The Hoxton, Williamsburg

What You’ll Do

• Responding to engineering requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner
• Monitoring the BAS system and the hotels electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
• Aiding in ordering tools and equipment as well as inventory control
• Avoiding preventative maintenance issues by performing roof to basement walk-throughs and guest room audits
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws
• Testing and ensuring cooling tower water levels are within the correct range
• Complying with New York Fire Department regulations
• Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude, even when dealing with challenging situations
• Lending a helping hand to both guests and colleagues

What We’re Looking For

• Several years of related Engineering experience in a similar role
• An in-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry
• The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• A strong desire to positively impact those you interact with
• A willingness to lend a hand where needed
• A flexible and open-minded approach to new ideas and challenges

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods standing and walking
• Bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and moving to reach, clean, and service machinery
• Visual inspection of machines
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
