What You’ll Do
- Responding to engineering requests and work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Monitoring the BAS system and the hotels electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems
- Aiding in ordering tools and equipment as well as inventory control
- Avoiding preventative maintenance issues by performing roof to basement walk-throughs and guest room audits
- Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws
- Testing and ensuring cooling tower water levels are within the correct range
- Complying with New York Fire Department regulations
- Maintaining a positive and friendly attitude, even when dealing with challenging situations
- Lending a helping hand to both guests and colleagues
What We’re Looking For
- Several years of related Engineering experience in a similar role
- An in-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry
- The ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- A strong desire to positively impact those you interact with
- A willingness to lend a hand where needed
- A flexible and open-minded approach to new ideas and challenges
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing and walking
- Bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, and moving to reach, clean, and service machinery
- Visual inspection of machines
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
