Building Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The City of Riverton seeks a Building Maintenance Supervisor to lead and oversee the maintenance division, ensuring the cleanliness, functionality, and maintenance of municipal facilities and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and coordinates ongoing maintenance and repairs/improvements of municipal grounds and facilities.
• Manages short-term and long-term maintenance initiatives and improvement projects.
• Develops short and long-range building maintenance plans for the annual budget.
• Locates vendors, obtains bids/costs, and ensures the successful progress and completion of facility maintenance projects.
• Coordinates and oversees maintenance staff to ensure municipal facilities are clean, operational, and maintained in a well-organized manner.
• Reviews the work and performance of staff and enforces policies and procedures.
• Serves as backup for janitorial coverage, as needed.
• Performs snow removal, lawn maintenance, and underground fuel storage tank maintenance.
• Ensures safety compliance by servicing fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eyewash stations, and maintaining SDS books.
• Services travel vehicles, performs hydraulic checks, and prepares vehicles for out-of-town trips.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Three (3) years of experience in the building maintenance field.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Class A UST certification within 60 days of employment.

• None.

• Understanding of construction management principles and techniques.
• Knowledgeable of pertinent building codes and regulations, as well as Federal, State, and local laws, codes, and regulations pertaining to building maintenance.
