Building Maint Tech-A

About the role

AEP is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to oversee and manage various aspects of the Data Center infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry, with the option for three (3) years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative/predictive maintenance on HVAC-related equipment, emergency generators, and building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Monitor and assist contractors and employees engaged in maintenance, construction, and operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, industry standards, and company policies.
• Assist with general housekeeping tasks such as assembling, moving, repairing, hanging, adjusting furniture, and managing inventory.
• Procure necessary materials and parts in an efficient manner.
• Maintain accurate records and submit reports as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Building Maintenance Technician B or at least three (3) years of equivalent experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or carpentry.
• Valid state drivers' license.
• Successful completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades test (CAST).
• Must possess and maintain a valid state drivers' license.
• Electrician or HVAC license or CFC refrigerant certification preferred.
• Willingness to pursue certification.
• Overtime and overnight travel may be required.
• Scheduled and unscheduled weekend and evening shifts may be required.
• Emergency call-out work may be necessary.
• Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Excellent verbal, written, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, review, revise, and correct blueprints, drawings, schematics, specifications, and instructions.
• Requires the ability to utilize a computer.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this position are medium. The employee must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, lift, climb, squat, kneel, and carry equipment weighing up to and exceeding 50 lbs. This position requires lifting, moving, and carrying equipment up to and in excess of 50 lbs.

Pay

$38.27 - $39.40 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
