About the role
The Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer is a full-time, cross-trained position in the Building Department.
Responsibilities
- Review plans and perform inspections of buildings and structures in the course of construction, alterations, or repairs to ensure compliance with all existing code requirements.
- Conduct regular duties related to property maintenance in support of the Village of Shorewood municipal code and ordinances.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of building codes and ordinances.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience in building inspection or code enforcement.
- Experience with computerized building permit systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
