Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee building inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes.
• Enforce local building codes and state regulations related to construction and remodeling projects.
• Review plans and permits for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and homeowners.
• Respond to complaints and investigate violations of building codes.
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Good physical stamina for on-site inspections.

Pay

$50,000 - $60,000 annually based on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
