About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing building inspections, enforcing local building codes, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee building inspections to ensure compliance with local and state building codes.
- Enforce local building codes and state regulations related to construction and remodeling projects.
- Review plans and permits for residential and commercial construction projects.
- Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and homeowners.
- Respond to complaints and investigate violations of building codes.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
- Knowledge of local and state building codes and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- Experience with computer software such as AutoCAD or similar drafting tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good physical stamina for on-site inspections.

Pay
$50,000 - $60,000 annually based on experience.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
