Building Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have experience in plan review, inspection, and code enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Conduct inspections of construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
• Enforce local building codes and regulations during construction phases.
• Issue permits and maintain records of all issued permits.
• Respond to inquiries from the public regarding building codes and regulations.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to building code compliance and enforcement activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in building code enforcement or related field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with building permit systems and software.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

$60,000 - $70,000 annually.
