Building Inspector

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on commercial and residential construction projects.
• Ensure compliance with Florida Building Code and local requirements.
• Conduct field inspections throughout all phases of construction.
• Review construction practices, materials, and workmanship for code compliance.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
• Communicate findings and corrective actions to contractors, developers, and property owners.
• Provide guidance on code interpretation and construction-related issues.
• Support the highest standards of public safety and construction quality.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Florida Building Code and inspection processes.
• Experience conducting inspections on a broad range of commercial and residential projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Valid driver's licence and ability to travel locally as required.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must be a fully qualified Commercial and Residential Building Inspector through the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and hold all required certifications in good standing.
