Lead projects in design and cost estimation of Facilities systems for Propulsion Plants as outlined in the Long Range Plan. Scope includes Building/Construction, Filtration, Mist/Dust collection, and all other equipment required for new model launches in North America, Canada, and Mexico.
Responsibilities
- Apply Underbody Process Engineering (UPE) standards and specifications to develop proposals for new product introductions, including process design, layout, and cost estimations (Capital, Tooling, and Expense).
- Develop process cost estimates.
- Create concept layouts and representations.
- Perform product feasibility analyses.
- Identify Design-to-Manufacturing (DTM) opportunities to improve key KPIs (Cost, Quality, and Throughput).
- Prepare process proposal documents for handoff to the UPE team for execution after program governance.
- Directly manage process engineering development and launch activities.
- Execute projects for new product/processes including RFQ, Sourcing, Commissioning, and Launch.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical preferred; Civil, Electrical, and/or Industrial acceptable).
- 8 years of automotive project experience with emphasis on Facilities systems development (Engine or Transmission).
- Experience leading teams in development of new product/process introduction proposals and cost estimation.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, PowerPoint, and 3D Rendering/Graphic Representation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to communicate with Executive/Senior Management.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to travel 10-20% to visit Propulsion Division plants and Suppliers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of industrial project management experience.
- Familiarity with 3D Design and Teamcenter Visualization.
- Experience with requirement equipment and process types including CNCs, Machining Equipment, Automation, Conveyance, Controls, and Gaging.
- Experience delivering Facilities Systems in Propulsion Plants.
- Experience working with Bargaining Unit Employees.
