Building Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Building Engineer to understudy and eventually serve as a dedicated on-site technician for a high-rise condominium. You will work directly with the property’s manager and existing building engineer to learn the ins and outs of the day to day operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the property, conduct regular walk throughs, organize, coordinate and manage the overall maintenance programs, preventative maintenance, and repairs to the systems including the basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Obtain bids, negotiate contracts and assist with budget preparation, maintain cost-effective inventory control, complete reports as required, respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Maintain effective communication with staff, owners and/or board members regarding maintenance issues/projects.

Requirements

• Advanced technical education or certifications relevant to facilities maintenance.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in building operations, engineering and equipment and systems maintenance.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and make recommendations to the team and the ownership/board.
• Strong customer service, communication, follow through, detail orientation and computer skills.

Pay

$28.00 - $32.00 per hour
