Building Envelope Consultant

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management and growth of façade inspection and safety-related services.
  • Lead and manage a team of industrial rope access inspectors and façade inspection projects.
  • Perform periodic rope-access inspections as part of ongoing responsibilities.
  • Provide consulting support for existing façade systems, including: Forensic investigation and condition assessments, Repair design development and detailing, Preparation of bid documentation, Construction phase support and administration.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of exterior wall and enclosure systems.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on: Proposal development, Budget tracking, Project planning and resource coordination.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Advise architects and owners on building enclosure performance, durability, constructability, and compliance.
  • Maintain clear, well-written technical reports documenting inspection findings and project activity.
  • Manage project schedules, deliverables, and quality standards to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Review and provide oversight of restoration staff reports and project progress.
  • Assist with staff resourcing, technical initiatives, and division-level planning.
  • Support training, mentoring, and professional development of junior staff.
  • Occasionally prepare and present technical papers or case studies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in building envelope, façade, or restoration projects
  • Proven experience with industrial rope access preferred
  • SPRAT certification (preferred)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering
  • Licensed Architect or Professional Engineer preferred
  • Strong understanding of architectural systems, design principles, and local building codes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Inspection certifications preferred
  • Proficiency with technical report writing and standard office software
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • Ability to balance technical detail with broader project and business objectives
