Responsibilities
- Maintain physical plant and equipment, ensuring all facility equipment and physical structures are in excellent condition, adhering to safety and operational standards.
- Manage the operation and maintenance of principal mechanical equipment such as pools, steam rooms, saunas, hot yoga rooms, HVAC systems, and elevators.
- Oversee daily facility operations, including maintenance tasks and facility-side activities to ensure smooth operation.
- Act as the primary point of contact for crisis and issue management, ensuring swift resolution and minimal disruption to operations.
- Manage and coordinate vendor and service contract management, ensuring adherence to budget constraints while maintaining high-quality service delivery.
- Supervise maintenance technicians to ensure task lists and general cleaning schedules are adhered to efficiently.
- Manage and build project task lists, coordinating with maintenance staff to schedule work orders and ensure timely completion.
- Utilize staff, service contracts, and emergency contact lists to rectify urgent repairs promptly and effectively.
- Ensure all areas of the facility meet safety standards and operate smoothly, conducting regular inspections and implementing necessary improvements.
- Provide comprehensive Daily Activity Reports on mechanical issues and activities to the Chief Engineer.
- Manage vendor relationships, ensuring services are delivered according to agreed terms and resolving any issues promptly.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities mechanical equipment management.
- Thorough understanding of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc., and ability to read and understand technical plans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be willing to obtain Certified Pool Operator (CPO), EPA 608, and Certificate of Fitness certifications as required.
- Must have or work to get a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license and FDNY Fire Guard and Certificate of Fitness certifications.
- Flexible schedule availability including weekends, holidays, and early morning/midday/late evening weekday shifts.
