About the role
The Department of County Assets (DCA) is seeking a Building Data Controller to serve as the BIM subject matter expert for County-operated facilities and building systems. In this role, you will provide essential building information for ongoing construction and maintenance projects, supporting the lifecycle management of over 170 facilities. You will collaborate with diverse partners, maintain efficient systems to prevent duplicate data, and help develop 3D building models.
Responsibilities
- BIM Implementation & Revit Model Production: Develop and maintain highly specialized, complex 3D facility models in Revit that reflect actual as-built conditions. Execute the County’s Building Information Modeling (BIM) plan, advise leadership on technology requirements, and map future business processes to preserve assets.
- A/E Coordination: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms, guiding them on data standards and ensuring their Revit models integrate with internal facility systems. Onboard and train external stakeholders to maintain efficient workflows.
- Database Management: Review, catalog, and standardize project record drawings and documentation within the database. Ensure safe internal and external access while tracking equipment lifecycles.
- AutoCAD & Specialized Drawing Production: Update CAD drawings to reflect real-world site changes and create customized graphical resources such as Custodial Maps, Snow Maps, and Pre-Incident Utility Plans.
- Training & Collaboration: Deliver virtual and in-person training to help coworkers navigate systems like Bluebeam, Google Docs, and Masterworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Design and Drafting or BIM-related Technology (or an equivalent combination of training, qualifying experience, or transferable skills).
- Three (3) years of experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties (7 years total qualifying experience).
- Advanced knowledge and technical skill using Building Information Modeling software, specifically Revit.
- Strong working knowledge of building construction documents, design and construction project document technical reviews, and project close-out standards management.
- Experience working with AutoCAD and data tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Architectural Design and Drafting or Autodesk certification.
- Prior experience working collaboratively across diverse, multi-disciplinary facilities maintenance or property management teams.
Skills
We value diverse life and work experiences, including volunteering, public service, military service, and community involvement. Highlight transferable skills in your application materials that align with the role.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with reasonable flexibility for work-life balance.
- Hybrid telework: Two days per week in the office (Prophet Building, 401 N Dixon, Portland, OR) and remote work from home. Hybrid designation may change in the future.
