Building Automation Systems Design Assistant

About the role

Support all Project Engineering tasks. Provide support to Systems Engineers and System Designers in performing Hardware and Software engineering activities. As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain engineering spreadsheets relating to hardware and software deliverables.
• Support Hardware and Software Engineers in the creation of hardware and software submittals.
• Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
• Complete administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
• Document changes and provide information for as-built documentation.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training with a high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure engineering is running efficiently.
• Provide documentation to support recommendations and solutions.

Requirements

• Vocational School four-year program or an Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning, or similar field plus three years of industry experience, or 1 year experience in servicing electronic and/or mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.
• Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation, and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.
• Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
• Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical Building Automation equipment on a job site.
• PC experience required and the ability to program HVAC-related software.

Pay

Hiring hourly range: $22.79–$34.24 (Hourly rate determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data).
