About the role

Honeywell International is seeking an experienced and motivated Building Management Systems (BMS) Field Service Technician to support customers in New York City, Queens, The Bronx, and Brooklyn, NY. This is a Union position (Local 3) responsible for installing, commissioning, programming, troubleshooting, optimizing, and lifecycle supporting advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS) using Honeywell and Tridium Niagara platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, program, and troubleshoot Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Develop system databases, map points, and configure front-end workstations and graphics
  • Interpret and implement sequences of operation
  • Commission and start up HVAC control systems
  • Work with industry protocols including BACnet, LonWorks, and Modbus (HTML/Java experience a plus)
  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and control drawings
  • Collaborate with internal project teams, subcontractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in building automation or controls industry
  • 1+ year experience working with DDC controls, BAS architecture, and system networking
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Honeywell
  • YOU MUST HAVE Niagara Tridium (N4/Optimizer) experience
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Honeywell, Andover, JCI, and Tridium
  • Controls experience in large commercial or institutional facilities
  • Experience working with commercial HVAC systems
  • Customer-focused, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proven track record of delivering high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
