Building Automation System (BAS) Operator - Facilities - School Year 2026-2027

Duties

• Maintain functionality of district's building automation systems.
• Maintain building environments to an acceptable level.
• Identify building automation systems problems and submit work orders.
• Dispatch HVAC and BAS technicians to emergency calls.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years' experience in building automated systems.
• Valid Texas driver license.
• Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to translate and communicate technical information in a simple, tangible manner; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in different subject areas; proficiency with a MS Windows based computer including MS Office Suite; ability to work independently, as well as with cross-functional teams; ability to organize and schedule work effectively; knowledge of Building Automation software; basic HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Electronics knowledge; ability to follow, read, and write specifications, schematics, and building plans; must be able to handle repetitive tasks; experience in one or more related fields such as technology, building automation systems, HVAC, Electrical; experience with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Johnson Controls Metasys and Automated Logic WebCTRL; knowledge of environmental benefits of energy conservation.

• On-call for afterhours, weekend and holidays.
• This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
