Building Automation Service Specialist

About the role

Our Service Specialists perform assigned tasks on building automation systems, including service agreement maintenance, projects, and on-call (time and material) service. You will respond to emergency service calls during regularly scheduled hours and after hours as needed. As the face of Siemens, your expertise and regular customer interactions will help customers save energy and money while creating a more sustainable future.

Responsibilities

• Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
• Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
• Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers; complete assigned training
• Adhere to mandatory policies, procedures, and standards; coordinate with contractors on job sites; maintain tools and test equipment
• Support after-hours on-call rotation; respond to emergency and on-site service calls as assigned
• Perform repairs on all automation system types
• Complete service ticket documentation per policy; follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed; generate reports using Siemens tools
• Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding system operations; assist with training
• Identify and report system discrepancies; suggest system upgrade opportunities; assist in pricing repairs and upgrades
• Perform system checkout and startup on projects
• Work overtime when needed (compressed schedules may require extended hours)
• Participate in rotational on-call duties and minimal overnight travel
• Conduct job site final walk and system-to-service turnover on assigned jobs
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
• Electro-mechanical experience (through prior role or education) and user PC/software skills
• Ability and willingness to work in various conditions, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, high lift equipment, ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, and above ceilings
• Ability and willingness to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
• Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed
• Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and limited violations; must meet eligibility for Siemens’ fleet vehicle program
• Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or state-recognized GED
• Specialized skill training/certification
• 1+ years of experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
• Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations
• Engineering and programming (PLC or BMS) background
• Knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP)

Pay

The pay range for this position is $54,121 - $92,779 annually. The actual wage offered may vary based on budget, candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
